Dirk Schouten
GT Cup Open Championship
In 2021, Dirk made the step up to car racing, entering the 2021 GT Cup Open Championship. He had a great first season in car racing, finishing on the podium or getting a victory in every race he entered in it. Finishing 3rd overall by the end of the season. In 2022 he became vice-champion of the GT Cup Open Championship, again finishing on the podium in every single race he entered and managing to get pole position 4 out of 5 times.
Sim Racing
Dirk was born into a real racing family who always had a passion for it. The now 24 year old Dutchman started with sim racing at the age of 12, with a simple steering wheel. Showing that he had a gift for racing straight away, by immediately breaking multiple laptime records on the official F1 games. He raced for about 2 years on the simulator before switching to karts.
Karting
From the age of 14, Dirk started racing in karts, shifter karts to be exact. Even though he was a bit late with starting racing compared to the kids he raced against, it was clear that Dirk had talent and was quick right from the get-go competing against the highest level of karting drivers.
Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux
Dirk stepped up to Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux in 2023. All identical Porsche Carrera Cup cars make it the closest and most competitive racing series in the Benelux. Dirk’s first season was impressive. He finished 4th overall and was vice-champion of the rookies. Getting his first podium at the Belgian race track Zolder. His consistency got people keeping an eye out for Dirk for the upcoming season.
In 2024, Dirk won 3 out of 12 races and got on the podium another 4 times, making him the champion of Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux in 2024 at the final round at Zolder.
