Thomas Potter
Karting
Since Thomas was only a toddler, he learned to ride a bicycle without stabilisers very quickly, soon after he was playing many racing video games, getting to grips with the feeeling of car control with a steering wheel and pedals. At the age of 7 he was already able to drive a car with a manual transmission.
When Thomas was 6 he went racing in karts, following in the footsteps of his older sister. His first ever session was in wet conditions in a 50cc Bambino Kart, and it impressed everyone. He displayed control and determination, so he entered his first chmapionship. That year he won multiple races on his way to winning the championship at the first time of asking.
As Thomas grew up in Northern England, he learnt to drive in challenging conditions from a young age, which really helped him to achieve the level of rain-driving skills required for car racing. He was often the only kid on the track practising on slick tires in the wet, which caught the attention of none other than Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button.
Around the time Thomas was 8 years old, he began turning heads on the karting scene. He was running on one of the tightest budgets, yet achieved succeses on the British karting scene. Thomas won 5 championships, set lap records around multiple tracks, earned 3 prestigious O-plate awards, won over 100 races and even had a race-winning streak of 23 at some point. Thomas put in performances that included finishing over 12 seconds ahead of the others in challenging conditions.
Thomas even did a 6 hour endurance karting race in wet conditions, and his pace was better than many senior drivers in that race.
Next to all of these phenominal achievements, Thomas also races with the powerful message of #NoSocialHate to champion the impact on people’s lives through hate on social media.
Sim-Racing
Thomas is big into sim-racing like he always has been. He keeps on winning championships in sim-racing, as he tries to keep himself fit and sharp for the real racing world. Thomas has millions of views on Instagram, in one of those videos he is sim-racing and showcasing his footwork on the pedals as he heel-toe shifts into a tricky approaching corner on the race track.
TOCA Juniors
In 2025, Thomas will be competing in the TOCA Juniors championship, which is a part of the British Touring Car Championship. Thomas is already a known face in the paddock of BTCC and has been drawn to the attention of big names within F1 such as Jenson Button and Aston Martin F1 Team’s Team Principal Mike Krack. Thomas has also tested Ginetta cars and was on the pace straight away. Along with that, Thomas has support from a Formula 4 engineer who also sees Thomas’ talent and works hard along with him to make him the best driver he can possibly be.
